Children’s Day Experience from an Alumni[Ibeji Praise]

It was on a Tuesday afternoon, my dad had a call from the PYP. He cut the call and smiled towards me and my brother, he exclaimed that “PYP is offering you a great trip for Children’s Day which will be coming up on the 29th of May, 2021. “I can’t wait,” I stated, it has been so long since I had a trip, I and my brother were so happy, including our household. I and my brother started preparing for the trip, my father reminded us of the vital information they gave, like your facemasks, your filled form, being properly dressed, and being punctual not to miss the chartered bus. He added that PYP was going to take us to the national museum and Upbeat centre. I was excited to go to the national museum, I had never been to Lagos island before. I went to my dictionary to find the word “UPBEAT ” I came across the word and read the meaning aloud it said ”happy “. Then I hoped it would be interesting.

The day came, and it was a Saturday morning, so I began preparing to make it to the event on time. I walked on the deserted street[it was early in the morning], my sight was obstructed because of the weather, it was harmattan. Arriving at the junction, me, my brother along with my dad who came to accompany us to the junction we took a motorcycle and reached the address. We reach there around 7.00 am according to the information. We entered into the hall and a woman miss damilola by name came to address us and took our filled form that was given to us, we quickly entered into the room, I saw my friend at school ‘Goodluck’ by name my classmate. I sat beside him and chat about the trip with PYP, few minutes later everybody entered into a big bus that was provided by PYP, it was two buses, some people entered one and another the other. I entered one of the buses with my brother it was an awesome and interesting trip. We played games, interesting games indeed like for example “which continent is the second-largest in the world.” Answers from every group [the bus was divided into two groups but no group could get it], to cut it short they gave the answer and we were surprised. Guess what, it was AFRICA, where we live

Peeping through the window, we saw beautiful things that beautified Lagos, the buildings long and strong, the sea and people chilling around mostly I saw first time in my life the “National Theatre” The best architecture masterpiece, I exclaim to myself “Whoa so this is the National Theatre, the buses continuing zooming on the express. Finally, we arrived at the National Museum where we learned a lot of things for example the past rulers of NIGERIA. We were addressed by two women from the gorgeous building, we went through all the sections both the art part and the governmental part too, it was so interesting, leaving the building we entered into the bus and took a delicious treat from the cheerful ‘PYP’ officials. Off we go to the most interesting part ‘UPBEAT CENTRE’. Before arriving there we discussed how I would have fun, though it was a discussion with me and my brother. Arriving there everybody on the bus was eager to have fun. We got into the hall and we had the greatest fun I ever had in my life, we played new games, to me it was new because I had never gone there. Coming back everybody in the buses shared their experience. I too shared my interesting part in the trip. I could not wait to tell my parent and my siblings the most interesting things I experience
